Hardness Scales
The Peak has many creatures, with many differences.
1. We Understand
Not every supplier in our industry does things the same way, and not every creator uses the same terminology for the same core product materials. Here at Peak Fantasy, we will endeavor to provide all the basic information on Sizing and Weights for each product on its respective sale page, however hardness is a bit of a different conversation.
2. What is Shore Hardness?
SHORE HARDNESS measures a materials resistance to indentation, indicating its softness or stiffness. A standard Shore Hardness scale will tell you something along the line of A40 material is "medium soft" while in reality, for the products we are creating, that is incredibly stiff and is the equivalent to a pencil eraser. For our purposes, we use materials MUCH softer to attempt to give our end uses the best possible experience.
For reference 0010 material is the equivalent of a gummy candy and A20 material is the equivalent to rubber bands.
3. Our Hardness Refernces
Below is a list of OUR material hardness references followed by their appropriate Shore Hardness references.
- EXTRA SOFT- 0020 Shore Hardness (Very squishy/very flexible. Textures less noticeable)
- SOFT- 0030 Shore Hardness
- MEDIUM- 0050 Shore Hardness
- FIRM- A10 Shore Hardness (Very squish resistant but still flexible. Textures more noticeable)
